The Power of a Dollar
The UPMC Pinnacle Foundation exists to provide resources to meet the needs of our most vulnerable patients, promote health and lifelong wellness in our communities, and support our workforce so we can attract, train, and retain the best and brightest talent at UPMC in Central Pa.
When you choose to make a gift, you help ensure that patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing financial hardship can still receive the care they need. Your generosity helps fund initiatives that wouldn’t be possible otherwise, projects that bring dignity, innovation, and hope into patient rooms and community spaces.
-
$20 can provide specialty utensils for a child in pediatric rehab, supporting both physical recovery and emotional independence.
-
$50 funds a gas gift card to help a patient get to treatment.
-
$120 covers a mammogram for an uninsured woman, ensuring access to early detection that could save her life.

Your Story Inspires.
Your Generosity Empowers.

Each year, the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation hosts Day of Gratitude to honor the deep connection between caregivers and the lives they touch.
In 2025, we're expanding this moment into a movement, encouraging everyone across UPMC in Central Pa. to reflect, celebrate, and act.

What is Day of Gratitude?
Day of Gratitude (D.O.G.) is a celebration of the healing journeys that happen every day at UPMC in Central Pa.
On September 19th, 2025, we’re inviting patients, families, staff, and supporters to recognize and honor the incredible caregivers, programs, and services that have made a difference in their lives.
Through August and September, you’ll have the opportunity to participate by sharing your story of gratitude or making a gift in honor of a caregiver, department, or program that inspired you. This isn’t just a day, it’s a campaign of connection, healing, and empowerment.
On Day of Gratitude, each of our seven hospitals will host D.O.G. Ambassador teams featuring our Pet Therapy dogs and handlers, an uplifting event that brings smiles, tail wags, and gratitude to the forefront for patients and staff.
